NEW COLLECTION - BONSAI ROCK

Bonsai Rock is an iconic landmark on the Northeast shores of Lake Tahoe, California. It is easily one of the top three most photographed places in Lake Tahoe. These hearty bonsai trees have somehow established a foothold in the cracks of the large boulder on the left. On the day I shot these in October 2016 there were no less than 20 photographers lining the shore with lenses pointed at the rock. I was lucky on two fronts - one, that I was able to find a spot to shoot on the shore, and two, it was a cloudless, moonless night - a perfect recipe for the Milky Way to put on a show.
